Catherine McCormack portayed Murrin

Murrin was based on the real wife of William Wallace, Marian Braidfoot, who was killed by English soldiers during a skirmish in the town of Lanark. Some accounts fix the murder on an Englishman named Heselrig, a Sheriff (Magistrate).
